Spring Clean Your Body

As the winter weather begins to welcome the start of spring, we often find ourselves getting motivated for that annual spring cleaning of our homes. As we tidy up the external clutter of our lives, we often neglect the internal clutter. Our bodies also deserve a good spring cleaning. Here are some simple ways you can help cleanse your body this spring:

HERBS
Dandelion: Beneficial for the liver and kidneys, helps with digestion, and is a good blood purifier. It is also packed full of vitamins & minerals. Can be taken as a capsule, extract, or tea.
Nettle: Aids in the removal of toxins by cleansing the urinary system, purifying blood, and supporting a healthy response to environmental stresses. Can be taken as a capsule, extract, or tea.

Milk Thistle: Improves liver, kidney, spleen, and gallbladder function. It is also known to protect the liver from toxins on a daily basis and encourages healthy protein synthesis. It can be taken as a capsule, tea, or extract.

DIET
Good nutrition is critical in supporting natural detoxification of the body. Here are some eating habits that will highly benefit the detoxification process:
Eat Organic
Avoid Processed Foods
Avoid Caffeine, Alcohol, and Sugar

MOVEMENT
Yoga: The stretching, twisting, & bending involved in yoga massages the internal organs, which creates cleansing & repair of the organs.

Rebounding: Rebounding is bouncing exercises on a mini trampoline. It distributes our lymphatic fluid & improves circulation.

Just Move: Walk, Bike, Dance, Move! Movement reduces stress & boosts the immune system, which helps increase detoxification.

HYDROTHERAPY
Hydrotherapy increases circulation by cleansing the body through skin pores. Sweating brings toxins to the surface to be eliminated. The heat causes the blood & lymph to flow.
Saunas & Steam Baths: Both are extremely effective for ridding the body of toxins, even pesticides & heavy metals.
Epsom Salt Soaks: Known to be relaxing, soothes sore muscles, and pulls toxins out of our largest organ…the skin.

Aromatherapy Baths: Uses essential oil to help in the process of detoxification. Each essential oil provides different effects.

OTHER
Dry Skin Brushing: Using a soft bristled brush while making strokes towards the heart helps to increase circulation, exfoliates the skin, and stimulates both the lymphatic and nervous systems.

Oil Pulling: Swishing organic coconut or sesame oil in the mouth for 15-20 minutes first thing in the morning is known to release plaque & tartar as well as remove other organisms from the mouth by “pulling” them into the oil before spitting it out and rinsing thoroughly.
Nasal Irrigation: Flushing the nose out with salt water helps to assist the body in natural detoxification.

Massage: In addition to being relaxing, massage moves lymphatic fluid, improves cardiovascular circulation, & helps release toxins more rapidly.

Breath Work: Taking strong deep breaths into the lower abdomen simulates the lymph nodes as well as the vessels in the lungs. This type of breathing can also be a simple stress reliever.
CUSTOMIZED DETOX
Detoxification is crucial for maintaining optimum health as none of us can live a perfectly clean lifestyle. We eat, breathe, bathe in, and drink toxins on a regular basis. Without proper cleansing of this toxicity, stagnation and issues can start to arise. If you’d like a custom designed detox for you or your pet, contact us at 612-812-9121.
